Dylan Thomas was a legendary reader of poetry, his own and others. I may have this wrong, but I believe he subsisted on honoraria from giving university readings.
Could anyone be a better reader of Dylan's poetry than Dylan?
As it turns out, the answer is yes. Here's an audio/video of Richard Burton reading Fern Hill. Many thanks to The New Combat and this post by Bill Ney for getting me to think about the brilliant Mr. Burton.
So sorry that it was removed. I cannot get enough of Richard Burton's voice.
